Fleet
67 is located in the newly updated Montrose Harbor adjacent to the Chicago
Corinthian Yacht Club. Montrose Harbor is a smaller very well protected
harbor only 5 miles from downtown Chicago and a few steps away from the
beach. The fleet was formed at the beginning of the 2002 season as an
expansion fleet by several members of Fleet 43 in order to allow for
more
growth and enjoyment of V15’s on Chicago’s lake front. Our
fleet currently has 23 active Vanguard 15’s stored there year
round with plenty of room for growth. They are stored in racks, four
high,
and can be rigged and ready to sail in about ten minutes. We have 2 cranes
and two ramps that make launching your boat a Breeze.
We have a Fun, diverse group of people of all ages and experience levels who love to compete. We stress fun and learning as part of every season. In addition to sailing we also host social events and clinics on a wide range of topics. As part of the Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club’s One Design Program,
our race schedule includes invitational regattas,
team racing events, and spring and fall frostbiting. Additionally, we run our own informal
racing on Thursday evenings in the summer to get newbes, friends, and
family out sailing. It is anticipated that the Vanguard 15 Southern Lake Michigan Fleets will maintain steady growth, while continuing to provide excellent sailing and fun for those interested in dinghy racing. |

to V/15 Owners: In order to participate in racing at Montrose you must
be a member of the Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club. It’s the best
bang for your buck in the Chicago area. Low entry cost, with all the amenities
necessary for civilized racing.
