Fall Frostbiting

Our sixth day of frostbiting is under our belts and Dave's promise of warm weather, sunshine, and great wind was enough to get 8 boats. Even Pete Madison and Mary Bruecker came to sail. To bad he could not fully deliver....One out of three ain't good. We had the warm weather but the sunshine and more importantly, the wind, did not cooperate. We did however, get in two fleet races and started two team races. There was a bit of a mutiny during the second team race when the wind shut off completely. Pete and Mel were the first to bail, followed by Augi, and soon the RC, Martin, abandoned the race. However, until Martin and Derrick pulled marks and started towing boats no one was going anywhere. There was one saving grace to the day and that was the Bloody Mary's. Bill Faude, in his attempt to top Lee's 5 course meal from last week, arrived in the morning with Bloody Mary's in hand. Sorry Lee but I think it worked. There was also plenty of chili and birthday cake for all. Tom and Martin were celebrating 30 something and 20 something birthdays.

Despite the cold and snow today next Saturday is supposed to be warm again and it will be our last day of official frostbiting. Hopefully the wind will cooperate and we can end on a great day. Dave will be running RC and Gerri will be bringing food, so we are all set. Also, the frostbiting awards will be on Wed. Dec. 3rd at 6:30 at CCYC. I hope everyone can make it.
